My journey from certified mess-maker to professional organizer has been a long one. If you would have told my seventh-grade locker partner or even worse—the poor guy whose locker was beneath ours (and who probably still has long-term concussion damage from so many books falling onto his head)—that I would grow up to be a decluttering expert, they would never believe you.
My Inspiration
After becoming a mother and spending many years struggling to manage our busy (and oftentimes bulging) home, I read everything I could about organizing. One day, I came across a book by Cas from Clutterbug, and learned that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to organizing. It's about finding what works for you—whether you're a Ladybug (like me), a Bee, a Cricket, or a Butterfly. I've taken a page from Cas's book and embraced the idea that organization should suit your unique style, making it both effective and enjoyable.
Then I was introduced to Dawn from the Minimal Mom who really opened my eyes to the beauty of simplicity. I've discovered that sometimes less really is more, and by letting go of excess stuff, I've created space for what truly matters.
And of course, Dana from A Slob Comes Clean has been my spirit guide on this journey. After completing her Speed of Life Decluttering Coach training and applying her five-step no-mess method, I discovered that with small, consistent steps, anyone can transform their space. I'm thrilled to share all that I've learned with you.
